An Amazing Day at Wrigley Field!

Lucky me! Uncle Bob called and asked if I would "like" to head to a Cubs game with him on Thursday. LOVE to!

In addition to the game, we were allowed to enter Wrigley Field at 4PM to have our photos taken on the field and in the dugout. I was a wreck! SO much excitement. AND it was 100 degrees outside. I was melting, buzzing with excitement and trying to soak it all in. To stand ON Wrigley Field and to be that close to the players is beyond description to me. I got to see Aramis Ramirez prepare for the game, watch the Cubs take batting practice, wear my Harry Caray glasses for a photo and hang out with Uncle Bob.

When we sat in the dugout briefly, the player (who I still cannot identify) said, "Hi. How ya doin?" I almost looked behind me to see who he was talking to! Before I left the dugout, I inappropriately said, "Kick some butt out there today, OK?" He replied, "Huh, that is a good idea. We will!"

The Cubs really did kick butt that night. The game was filled with home runs (mostly Cubs with the exception of Ryan Howard's big 'uns for the Phillies) and the Cubs won 12-6.

I always carry a stats sheet with me at games. This time I was interested in the current MLB oldest player who was the pitcher on the mound for the Philles, Jaime Moyer. He is 47! Then I noticed how young one of the Cubs was. Starlin Castro shocked the crowd when he stole home...I checked his stats and he is the youngest player in MLB currently. I will add this night to my personal stats..."Katie attended a Cubs game and witnessed both the YOUNGEST and the OLDEST players in MLB currently. AND the Cubs kicked butt."

A Day for a Play...starring my nephews

Friday night found my family in downtown St. Charles at the Steel Beam Theatre to see my nephews in an old-time musical melodrama, 'Tied to the Tracks'! They both had big parts with singing, dancing and drama! They were wonderful. We celebrated after with a trip to Colonial Ice Cream. Reminder...when you allow a child to build their own sundae, be prepared for a sugar attack!

Enjoy this video clip and pictures!

So, many of you have asked what the results are from the Crocs Ambassador contest! I will not know anything until somewhere around July 29th. That is the date Crocs is unveiling a new website and the Vitamin C blog. Vitamin C...The "C" can stand for "Crocs" or as in the vitamin you should take daily. Crocs wants you to get your Vitamin C daily on their website. If you do, you will see updates on product, blogs by Ambassadors and more! It will be entertaining and informational.
Have I thanked you all for your unbelievable support? I know you voted and voted and VOTED! Even when you didn't have enough time to do other tasks in your day, you voted for ME online. I thank you for that! I laugh when I hear how some of you had a time written on a post-it note next to your computer to recall when you can vote again. Teddy and I had the same notes! We even got to the point where our votes were near midnight....I would get out of bed and go vote. Thank you so very much for your efforts!
So now, the Crocs team has a lot to do. They probably have a lot of work to catch up on since we left. We kept them busy out of their offices and they kept us entertained and well-fed. I must say, the group of Ambassador finalists are AMAZING. It is truly incredible how amazing everyone was....keep in mind, these finalists were selected via the internet. Crocs knew us by our one photo, a paragraph and how many votes we received. There were no phone interviews, no additional photos, no in-person reviews. As a past sales manager, I can tell you, it could take YEARS to find 10 amazing people like Crocs compiled for this contest. I would interview my potential team members 3 or 4 times before I hiring them. Crocs ended up with 10 perfectly intelligent, outgoing, energetic, creative, Croc-loving Ambassador finalists. I enjoyed everyone individually and as a group. We could travel as a pack of 10 anytime and have a perfect vibe going.

I am enjoying getting to know the other finalists even more now via Facebook and Twitter. Ah, social media. It brings people together!

BIG Day in Boulder!

What a huge day we woke up to today as Crocs Ambassador finalists. AND we woke up to sunshine and clear skies! Finally, I got a great view of the Flatirons.
Our agenda on Friday included completing video interviews, one-on-one interviews and a photo shoot! I was so bummed I didn't have my standard props with me...such as a baseball, my Harry Caray glasses and crazy teeth. I think the photographer would have thought I was nuts. Better that I didn't have all that stuff.
The video interviews were fun, but I got nervous and called my friend Linda in Tuscon. She made me laugh so hard while we chatted that people on Pearl Street were looking at me. Thanks, Linda!
The one-on-one interviews were in the fancy conference room in the lower level of the Crocs Pearl Street store and were fun. The photo shoot was funny...the photog made us scream at the camera, jump in our Crocs and do other nutty things.
After we were done with all our tasks, we headed off to lunch. We also had to say many goodbyes!
Here is a reacap in pictures!

My morning walk led me to the Boulder Trail. COLD water!

Lorraine doing her video interview on this beautiful day....Rick the photog at the studio. Small world strikes AGAIN....his wife is from my hometown of St. Charles, IL!

Breakfast at the Boulder Tea House on the Boulder Trail.

Lunch at West End Tavern....for those who know me and my chapstick habit, here I am with a Crocs chapstick from my goodie bag!

Me and Chris....Lorraine and Sherri!

We figured we all ingested about 4 avocados per person over the two day time...the guacamole was delicious everywhere we went!

View from lunch...

After lunch, I had time before my flight. I grabbed a cruiser bike from the front desk and rode further on the Boulder Trail. I came to these interesting rock formations, obviously man-made. Safety first in my helmet! I was shocked to have a 10-yr-old on the Boulder Trail yell to me, "Niiiiiiice Baaaassssssket" on my bike. What?? All I could come up with was, "Thaaaaaanks, BABE!"

The river was packed with people rafting and then running back up the river with their rafts to do it over and over again. What a great day!
